Many contact us for
our involvement and support in their child molestation/abuse
and/or domestic violence causes through author appearances
or speaking engagements. We will gladly donate a percentage
of the net sales from an event, but here are some
suggestions to raise much larger amounts for your
organization:
ü
Locate and
procure one or more sponsors (firm, company, donor, your
church) to fund the purchase of a quantity of books for
donation and distribution to your charitable organization.
It is imperative that the sponsor is able to realize a tax
deduction for their part in the fund raiser. You
must be able to
provide them with proof of a legal tax deduction. If you
choose to have an author appearance, contact Carolyn to
confirm her availability for the date and time you have
chosen. Remember, author events mean your group keeps more
of the donated funds.
ü
Explain to
the sponsor their donation will purchase books to be
donated. Give them information on the charity benefiting
from the event (women’s abuse shelter, free legal services,
domestic violence awareness group, etc.). Be sure to utilize
information about the author to draw attention, i.e. she has
appeared on nationally syndicated television, public
broadcast and other radio programs, numerous print media,
etc. You may be able to obtain multiple sponsors, with each
sponsor committing to fund the purchase of a portion of the
bulk order. We find that offering a copy of the book to the
sponsor, as well as to those in attendance at the event,
draws a greater interest and higher number of attendees. The
more books purchased, the more money you make!
ü
PITCH THE
SPONSOR: Ask the sponsor to commit to purchase “X” amount of
books at $15.95 each (or you may choose to quote a different
price, such as $15.00 per book). Have them submit a check
made payable to your organization for payment, and remit
directly to you. Tell the sponsor if they provide a label or
rubber stamp, their company’s name and information will be
placed permanently on the cover or inside the book,
recognizing them as the donor. Each book will be personally
autographed by the author,
if they are donated
for an author appearance event. Also, some may order the
books for placement at their business or office, for
donation to clientele there, such as family law offices or
mental health counselors, without an author event being
held. You still
make a considerable amount, receiving a smaller discounted
purchase price per book.
ü
DISCOUNT
RATES: There is a 20-book minimum purchase required, in
order to receive the substantial discounts. Paperback copies
of the book list for $15.95 each. An event without author
appearance warrants a 35%-40% discount. Author appearance
events will receive 40%-45% off the purchase price of the
paperback books. For example, 100 books ordered for a book
drive will receive a 35% discount off the list price, making
the purchase price $10.37. An author appearance such as a
book signing or speaking engagement results in a 40%-45%
discount, making the purchase price $9.57 per book. (The
more books ordered, the better we may reduce our speaker’s
fee for the event). Because you will purchase the books at
the discounted price, you will retain the balance of the
donation made from the donor. For example: A sponsor
purchases 100 books at $15.00 each. You receive $1500,
purchase 100 books at $9.57 each for an author appearance,
and keep the $543.00 difference (less shipping and
handling).
ü
A podcast
interview on Carolyn’s website may be conducted prior to the
event with your representative and made available 24/7 on
the internet. The sponsor will be mentioned, and if they
provide a link and .gif or .jpg copy (with permission) of
their logo, they will be posted on the web page containing
the podcast. We provide a link to place on their website,
your website, and to share with others – all this for their
donation. If multiple sponsors are obtained, the listing
order will be by sponsors’ number of books donated. Should
all give equally, they will be listed alphabetically. The
website space is limited, however; so timeliness of their
donation may make a difference on whether or not they
appear.
ü
Through her
speaking and appearances, Carolyn motivates others to give
and/or participate in such meaningful causes as yours. Rest
assured, she is honored and delighted to work closely with
you to raise funds in the fight against child
molestation/abuse and domestic violence. She will help to
contact local media, post press releases, etc., to help gain
exposure for your event. Her passion is to get the message
contained in ORANGE
BLOSSOM WISHES to as many victims of child
molestation/abuse, domestic violence, or perhaps even heart
disease or depression, as possible.
ü
ENJOY! This
should be a wonderful experience. Remain focused on the
purpose behind it all. You are helping victims who have been
molested, abused, battered or beaten to find their own hope,
faith and belief for a life truly worth living. And
you made the difference. For

If you would would like to help our cause, contact
